THE "Carlo Camino" BRIDGE - A 360-degree panorama
Ceriale's scenic pier was built in 2007.
A wonderful pier from which you can admire the whole city, listen to the sound of the sea and enjoy breathtaking views.
Data Sheet (Dr. Carlo Agnese S.p.a.):
The work consisted of the construction of a pier that was rooted on a pre-existing sea terrace on the Diaz waterfront. The pier having a width of about 6.00 ml, is developed in 12 flushes of 9.00 ml, plus a semicircular header of 7.50 ml, and extends to the sea for a length of 115.50 ml, the distance of the header from the outer limit of the promenade is a total of 135.50 ml. The structure of the pier consists of Ø 1,000 steel piles, spaced 9.00 ml apart, driven into the sandy ground and with gradually rising to the seaward top. On them rest the spans of dimensions 9.00×6.00 composed of crossed steel trusses. The intrados, with a curvilinear profile, was covered with stainless steel plate; the walking surface was made with a weave of transverse wooden joists and longitudinal running staves, while the parapet was made with a stainless steel system with tubular beams and steel wires stretched between the posts. The lighting of the walkway was realized with central translucent element throughout the development of the pier, assisted by small floodlights arranged in the upper current of the parapet.
